MotoGP – Rossi Signs With Ducati

Valentino Rossi will throw a leg over a Ducati for two years from 2011 after signing an agreement with the Italian manufacturer.

Ducati Team will be hoping for a successful era with the nine-time World Champion on board after several difficult years since Casey Stoner won the Championship on a Ducati back in 2007.

At this stage it is not known whether Rossi’s long-time friend and crew chief Jeremy Burgess will also make the switch from Yamaha to Ducati.

Another possibility being thrown around for Burgess is a move back to his old team at Honda where he had huge success working with Mick Doohan. That would mean he could look after fellow Aussie Casey Stoner, who has already signed with Honda for the 2011 season.

Either way, with Jorge Lorenzo almost guaranteed to take out this years World Championship, his new team-mate, Ben Spies, will surely be considered Yamaha’s number two rider.
